XSPF Web Music Player (Flash)

Tha player receives the parameters on the query string, the most important parameter is the playlist_url, that tells the player wich xspf playlist to play, if you leave it blank the player will play a default playlist.

  • Make sure to fill your xspf url in both the data attribute of the object element and value attribute of the param element (name="movie"), otherwise you may notice different playlists on IE and Firefox/Mozilla/Safari browsers.
  • If the .swf file and the .xspf file are on different domains, you may need to put a crossdomain.xml file on the root of your playlist host server.

  • useful flash sites

my ongoing collection of links to neat and useful flash sites.

new sites are at the bottom of each category. moockmarks are also as a single netscape bookmarks file. (note: right now i'm leaving in dead links for historical purposes. one day i might overhaul everything and add an option to not view dead links.)

winner of october 1999's wddg flash challenge, this site excels at lots of different aspects of flash: there's a useful and engaging loading sequence, very cool sound design, a neat interface, and lots of yummy little design elements.

    Flah Satay

Flash has always shipped with some method of generating an HTML page to contain Flash movies. Initially, it was a tool called AfterShock. Since the release of Flash 4, authors can export HTML pages with embedded movies from within the Flash authoring environment. This markup produced by Flash is the de facto standard that you’ll find in 99% of sites that use Flash movies.
